I have been with the Burnside Clinic since Dr. Burnside's decision in
1985 to tackle the problem of HIV/AIDS so our patients would not be
referred out to less than welcoming "specialists". Our credo has been
first and foremost the well being of our patients and their families.
That is what started us into Clinical Trials as a way to gain access to
medicines for our folks long before they were available to the general
public. We continue this today with various trials as well as expanded
access to drugs as soon as they are available to the general public but
not commercially available.

One of the most important goals for our clinic is to embrace not only
the patient but also the family and support that they have. We provide
counseling and advice in areas as diverse as personal problems and what
assistance is available when insurance is not an option.

Our clinic operates as a family with Dr. Burnside as its head. His
compassion and commitment to his patients and the fight against HIV/AIDS
has been recognized and honored statewide.
